Spammers are the most entertaining writers

Don’t you just love spam emails?  To me, some of the greatest copywriters on the web are by far and large the spammers. The misspellings and sentence structure is so amazingly genius and talented. Here’s a real spam email gem that just came in:

Ni hao,

Fuck beer! Got sexy girl?

His ears fell at once in talk with his new neighbour, you
must admit that that was unfortunate. It depends little
head, her profile with the perfection of and i’m not quite
sure when right. Goodbye till by urgent dressmakers. Her
home only gave her pressure for a foolish debt might have
been the who comes? As if a train of powder laid from the
mother’s brother with whom she’d had a frightful instant,
the doctor even had his two hands at he was her life, her
existence. Love burned in a lover. Pete took note of maggie.
say, mag, i’m indians, and for which the westerners were
clamoring. Here. It here that she met him. He was in neighbourhood
direction the restless and roving spirits which thenwell,
we thought it might be rather a good.

Which leads me to thinking. Are web designers more akin to getting more spam email than the general public? Seems like I always hear family members bitching “oh my goodness I got a spam email last July that said Viagra and penis and I was just blown fuckin’ away appalled!” or some such shit like that. One a year? Us web designers get several per second. It’s like that race where they raced a motorcycle, a Corvette or something, and a Harrier fucking jet. Except in the web design comparison, the race would be like watching paint dry vs. the speed of smashed particles around the Large Hadron Collider at CERN type of thing. Son of a bitch.

  • It’s as if spammers are just a bunch of genius poets who’ve been so underappreciated by society that they’ve decided to revolt by spamming everyone. But you can still find moments of beauty and genius within their text…

    I mean, this is genius:
    “Goodbye till by urgent dressmakers”

It would at least make some great song lyrics!

Photoshop Tips & Tricks

There are a couple of ways you can go about adding new layers to your Photoshop documents. Clicking on the NEW LAYER button in the layers palette will do the trick, or you can access it from the Layers menu. The quickest way though in my opinion to add a new layer is to use the keyboard shortcut. On Macs, it’s Command+Shift+N. On Windows, Control+Shift+N.
