The Golden Girls and old people fashion

The Golden Girls - sexy steady like a rock.
I noticed something while watching the Hallmark channel’s Golden Girls marathon. During the entire run of this show, which was a whopping 180 ass episodes over 7 seasons, their fashion stays pretty consistent. Even during the obvious change-up of the writing staff. So it got me thinking, and it goes a lot deeper than that. Older women’s fashion seems to pretty much does not budge. Ever. This might not be so apparent around here in the mountains, but maybe it’s because I really just don’t see many people here period–old lady or not. But in Florida, I seemingly know and interact with scores of old women, and their fashion (or lack therof) is as clear as a sidepunch to the face.
So I wonder, at what point in a woman’s life is the pivotal moment where she stops advancing with a particular fashion, and that fashion style remains throughout her retirement. Like, when does the see saw hit 50/50 and whatever is in style that year, she goes with it from that point on? I have no idea.
It’s a shame the Golden Girls isn’t on tv anymore. And it sucks that Estelle Getty died. But apparently, Bea Arthur was the sole reason the show ended because she was ready to “move on.” Just thinking about it, the sadness gains a hold of me.
Must be time to head over to Golden Girls Central and lose myself for a while.

All about how stuff fits. Older ladies prefer comfort over style!!!

Oh who cares what other people think of your fashion! Wear what you like and tell everyone else to cram it! haha

Now Dorothy..no need to be so aggressive about these things. Everyone knows the less you wear the easier it is to get off…
